Why You Should Take Your Toddler to Disney

Seven reasons why you should take your toddler (under 3) to Disney.

`

You may have heard it from others, or said it yourself: “they are too young, they won’t remember the trip.” Because of this, you may have decided to not take your toddler to places like Walt Disney World or Disneyland. I am here today to tell you to DO IT! Take the trip! Disney for a youngster can be so magical for them, but also for you as parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, or friend. There are so many reasons to take your toddler (under 3 years of age) to Disney, and I want to share a few.

  1. YOU will remember it.

It’s true, your toddler may not remember the trip. But you will. Imagine your 2 year old seeing Mickey for the first time - maybe that’s when she even takes her first steps! Visualize the look on his face when he sees Goofy in the Festival of Fantasy parade - maybe Goofy waves back! The feeling YOU get watching your child experience the magic will be a feeling you will never forget. Plus, in a few years, you and your child will have so many pictures and videos to look back on! I LOVE looking back at my Disney pictures from my very first trip, even though barely remember the trip myself.

Here is a picture of my scrapbook I made after my first trip to Walt Disney World!

  2. Children under 3 years old are FREE!

The BEST perk of taking your child to Disney before they turn 3 years old is that they get into the parks for FREE! You don’t need to buy a park ticket for them, which will ultimately save your hundreds of dollars!

Don’t forget to book magical extras to make the trip even more special! You can book 1st haircuts at Harmony Barbershop on Main Street, Capture Your Moment 1st visit Photoshoot, and more!

  3. There are so many rides they can ride!

At Walt Disney World, there are over 50 rides they can ride with you! For the ones they can’t ride, your family can set up Rider Switch. There are also countless character meet and greets, shows, parades, and more they can experience!

All ages can ride rides that are for “Any Height!”

Some parks have even more! EPCOT has lots of playgrounds and even an aquarium that features dolphins and manatees! Animal Kingdom has approximately 2,000 animals. There is definitely lots to do for ALL ages!

  4. They don’t need Lightning Lanes purchased for them!

Lightning Lanes, if chosen to purchase, will be purchased for everyone with a park ticket. That means your child under three years old won’t need Lightning Lanes! They will just go with you through the Lightning Lane entrance saving you even more money.

  5. They can dine for FREE!

Children under three years old can dine at Disney for free! If you purchase a Dining Plan at Walt Disney World, they will not need a dining plan. At table service restaurants, they can eat off an adult’s plate. Plates at Disney can have a lot of food, so there is no worry about not having enough. PLUS, you can take food into Disney, so bring along some of your child’s favorite snacks! I always recommend eating at a buffet so that there is more than enough for everyone! I thing you get more bang for your buck that way. Two of my favorite kid-friendly buffets is Chef Mickey’s for breakfast at Walt Disney World and Goofy’s Kitchen at Disneyland.

  6. Each park offers Baby Care Centers!

    Baby Care Centers are

located in each park and offer a solace from the chaos of the busy parks! This is a free resource to guests. Baby Care Centers offer:

    • Nursing room with chairs

    • Changing rooms with tables

    • Toddler size toilets

    • Feeding area with high chairs

    • Kitchen with microwave and sink

    • Main room with television, table and seating

    • On-site shop that sells items like baby food, juice, diapers, and more items that you may need!

  7. If you are flying, children under three can fly FREE!

Many airlines offer free flights to children under three years old who sit in an adult’s lap. That’s just another way to take a Disney trip and save so much money!
